Help Me Find A Job! REWARD OFFERED!

This is the initial post on the "Find Matt Freeman A Job" blog.
I was recently laid off from the Walt Disney Company where I was a software engineer working on video games.  I had been there less than one year when the axe fell.  Ouch!
Prior to that I was a software engineer for Tomax Corporation.  I had been working there for almost 11 years, and had a very difficult time choosing whether or not to leave.  Ultimately, I chose to move on and try a new industry.
Well, now I am unemployed, so I guess that didn't work out so well.
Now comes the challenge.  What I really need to do now is find work!  The market is incredibly tough out there right now and I am having some trouble finding a new job.  I have been interviewing and have been back to some places for multiple rounds, but it is taking too long.  Submitting resumes and applications on the internet job boards feels like applying to a black hole.  Most of them never respond.  I know that finding those "insider" networks to get your resume through is really the best route when trying to find new employment.
This is where you come in.
I am calling on my friends, their friends and their friends-friends and so on.  I need you to find me a job.  The first person that can get me in the door for an interview and get me an acceptable job offer in the IT field (preferably as a software engineer) with a company (preferably in the greater Wasatch Front area) gets a $250 reward.
If you get me in the door somewhere and get me an offer within ten days of this post, then the reward goes up to $500.
If I get hired directly by a corporation/company, I will instead donate the money to the Utah Food Bank or to the charitable organization of their choice.
The race is on, find me a job and the money is yours!
You can leave your suggestions and contacts here in the comments section, or you can e-mail them directly to me:  mattfree@gmail.com
Also, if you would like a copy of my current resume, please send me an e-mail as well.
Let's go people!

(Unfortunately, if you have already referred me to a company, you'll have to be excluded from the contest.  This is for new leads only.  Sorry.)

  1. Hey Matt, I think Rachael's company is hiring for development work, at least it was last time I heard. Contact me on Skype if you don't have her contact info and I can put you in touch with her and she can give you the info. Also I have a friend who works for an IT company and they have been looking for a consultant up this way (They are based in Las Vegas. It would be contract work, and is not development work, but more network IT stuff. Let me know if you're interested and I can see about getting you in contact with them. I'll keep my ears open and send any more tips I find your way.

    Best of Luck!
